We believe that a global shift starts with a local improvement. Even the microcosm of our Restaurant and Hotel can have an impact on the Planet and its condition. When expanding our Hotel, we carefully selected materials and technological solutions, paying particular attention to environment-friendly production process and low carbon footprint as key selection criteria. Environmental protection is also one of our primary concerns at our Restaurant, where we strive to prevent any mismanagement of natural resources and reduce waste generation. Our menus are printed on recycled paper, and our drinking straws and single-use food packaging are made of biodegradable materials.
When having breakfast at our Restaurant, you will not find any butter, yoghurt, or dressing in disposable containers. They are served on glass dishes or are available from reusable dispensers. Take-away coffee is poured into biodegradable cups with wooden stirrers, and take-away meals are served in paper bags.
A major category of waste generated by restaurants is glass. To reduce our generation of waste bottles and corks, we have deployed a dedicated wine-on-tap system with wine stored in kegs, which has an additional advantage of keeping wine fresh for a longer period of time.
We have put in place a detailed waste sorting policy across our Hotel and Restaurant. We are also increasing the use of biodegradable detergents and are planning to launch food waste composting.
